Delkor Systems Introduces New Trayfecta
S series Carton Forming Machine

Circle Pines, MN . . . Delkor Systems, Inc., a leader in innovative end-of-line packaging systems, has introduced a significant line extension to its Trayfecta® line of case, carton and tray formers.

The new Trayfecta S Series Carton Forming Machine uses advanced servomotor drive control of all critical machine motions, allowing the unit to operate at higher throughput speeds and with greater efficiencies than mechanical-drive systems. The S Series also incorporates enhanced ergonomics, such as waist-high carton blank magazines for safer, easier material replenishment. The new system is available in single- and multi-head configurations, continuing the Delkor tradition of safe, reliable and profitable performance.

The name of the Trayfecta line of former systems derives from its ability to form all three of the common end-of-line package forms: sidewall trays, corrugated cases and paperboard cartons. Delkor designed the Trayfecta line specifically to meet the needs of non-food operations where wash downs are not required, and the equipment is fabricated of powder-coated common steel rather than stainless steel. The new equipment incorporates both the versatility and the robust construction for which Delkor equipment has become known and respected.

Tray and carton forming is done in a unique spring-loaded forming cavity that prevents product jamming and the costly downtime that can occur. This innovative feature, plus the new servomotor-driven operation and the ready availability of replacement parts, ensures the system’s high reliability.

The sturdy Trayfecta frame is constructed of ¼-inch cold-rolled steel tubing and features robust Rockwell Automation control circuitry (including a self-diagnostic function) accessed through a touch-screen HMI control panel. Modular control architecture enables integration of accompanying devices such as glue dispensing units. Menu-driven selection of three preset operating speeds and glue dispensing patterns helps keep changeover time to approximately 15-20 minutes, or even less when optional Delkor Systems quick-insert cavities are used.

Trayfecta S Series machines operate at throughput speeds of up to 80 cycles per minute with one forming head. Fifteen Trayfecta models are available that feature one, two, three or four forming heads and accommodate various blank sizes ranging from 48 inches wide x 30 inches long (Model 1500 Series) to 36 inches wide by 30 inches long (Model 1200 Series).
