Delkor To Showcase Maximum Versatility at Pack Expo International 2010
MINNEAPOLIS MN - Delkor Systems, a leading North American manufacturer of end-of-line packaging systems, will introduce a record number of new machinery designs at Pack Expo International 2010 with one common theme: MAXIMUM VERSATILITY. The new systems will be on display at the Delkor booth, S-2517.
“These new systems have been designed specifically to meet the requirements of companies that need a case packer that converts in minutes from cases to Retail Ready display trays, or that need the capability to run a wide range of paperboard and corrugated sizes and formats on a single cartoning line,” states Dale Andersen, Delkor’s President and CEO. “Each system has been developed with the goal of offering maximum versatility in end-of-line packaging, which brings the end-user benefits in time-, cost-, and labor-savings and also lead to early investment payback.”
Systems on display in the booth will include:
The new Delkor Retail Ready Tray Former, which fully automates the tray-making sequence for Display Trays with die-cut openings to hold tapered cups for products such as cultured dairy foods. The space-saving machine forms Display Trays that are properly aligned and oriented for automated product loading in a continuous flow at rates up to 40 trays per minute. Tray dimensions range up to 20 inches wide, 12 inches front-to-back, and 2.75 inches deep.
In the booth, the new Delkor Retail Ready Tray Former will be integrated with a Delkor Spot-Pak® System to demonstrate its ability to switch from forming Retail Ready Display Trays to Flat Pad Spot-Pak Shippers in seconds, while continuing to supply the downstream shrink wrapping operation.
A Top Load Cartoning Line for yogurt tubes will demonstrate
Delkor’s ability to synchronize all phases of carton forming, loading, and closing for flexible tubes, sachets, and stick packs. The line will include a Trayfecta® S Series Former, a Customized Top Load System for Cartons, and the Delkor Capstone Tri Seal Carton Closer with advanced Intelligent Positioning™ technology.
The Trayfecta Former will feed unsealed three-flap cartons into a Customized Loading System which will top-load them with VFFS yogurt tubes, using a conveyor that transports tubes to the load head above
an open carton then meters tubes into each carton at rates of 330 to 650 tubes/minute using a patent-pending servo-driven gate. The Delkor Capstone Tri Seal Carton Closer will then close and seal cartons.
Delkor’s Flex Loader Case Packer is a gantry-style pick-and-place robot that top-loads consumer unit packages into cases for shipping. It can handle various product infeed options, including timing screws or pneumatic- or servo-controlled lane diverters which collate multiple product packages into a desired pack pattern for vertical loading into secondary package containers.
The Flex Loader system can accommodate regular slotted cases (RSCs), formed boxes or trays, Retail Ready Display Ready Trays, or dairy cases. It can also be configured with an integral Case Closer with hot-melt adhesive or an automatic case tape sealer, reducing floor space required.
